Death

John G. Young, M.D.

Death

becomes you not,

comes not,

before you're dead,

in sickness and in health.

I'm so mad

we've stopped living,

before we're dead.

Too much is gone,

lost from us,

gone.

Loving is not leaving,

Going, giving up.

Surrender is not coping,

surviving mere existing,

neither living nor dying

till death see us part.

Why must we die

before resurrection?
