Paranoid Posture

His mind was keen, his body tense;

he used attack for his defense.

 

"They" had a plot, yes, he was wise;

he could spot it from their eyes.

 

"They" seemed, you see, to be spying on him,

though to be sure evidence was thin.

 

"Their" evil intent he could surmise;

somehow he knew what "they'd" devise.

 

He looked without and not within.

There was no doubt the enemy was him.
