Short Circuit

He came to me saying,

"My battery's dead."

He had been playing

the town and had

run himself down.

He wanted a charge

to bring him around,

but the problem was large

so what was the use.

Then I gave this retort:

"It's your daily abuse

that's causing the short.

What you need instead

to re-establish the firing

is a change," I said.

"Let's begin by rewiring."
